Boating Beauty on the Lake

Ahh...summer. The time for barbeques, water sports and vacations. I was recently boating on the lake in Big Bear and took advantage of the gorgeous scenery for this outfit post. Here is how I do a "summer on the lake" look while boating. I wore my halter style monokini and threw a long green maxi dress over it. I made sure to wear some comfortable metallic flip flops and a sun hat. I topped off the look with some dangly gold earrings- and voila! That is how you do an easy, stylish "summer on the lake" look while boating. Maxi dress (old): Ross | Floppy sun hat (old): local sporting goods store | Flip flops (old): Kohl's | Gold dangly earrings (old): gift from a friend Create this look by shopping these similar products:

Kenneth Cole at The Biltmore

I was recently on vacation in North Carolina and decided that was a great opportunity to break in my new Kenneth Cole Reaction flats from Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse . So, in front of the gorgeous Biltmore Mansion, I got my prints fix on and introduced the world to my new foot finds!       I chose a green polka dot blouse with ruffles (old) for the top...  And combined it with a fun, multi-color floral skirt (old). ( convertible handbag/backpack from Day2Night)   And of course, those new Kenneth Cole shoes adorned my feet. Since I used mixed prints for the look, I decided to go sans jewelry, so that there wasn't too much going on with the ensemble. How do you do the mixed print look? What other pieces would you wear these shoes with?

Trending Summer Pieces

Ahh...summer...so close...and that means new trends, new pieces and new looks! Check out three that are going to be popular come June 21st. Summer is hot, and you can be too!   Pleats Pleats are great for adding a touch of class to your ensemble. While they can be worn casually or with more dressy pieces, pleats add dimension and details to any look. Crochet   Crochet also adds details to any look, and enhances your outfit with texture and mystery. Even when you have a cami or tank underneath your crochet top, you still leave people wondering what it looks like on its own.   Kimonos   You probably won't need a kimono during the hot summer days, but if you live somewhere that has cold evenings, a kimono makes a great piece for a night out. Wear over a summer romper, dress or casual summer outfit. Shop for these trending summer pieces at the Leather & Lip Gloss Boutique .

Put a Cork In It

I bet when you think about cork, one of two things comes to mind: a bulletin board, or wine. Well, here is a third one for you- fashion! That's right. This season, cork is quickly becoming a trend to get on board with (no pun intended). What's awesome about cork is that you can do so much with it- add colors, textures or patterns to create any look. And of course, it is totally unique and fun! Check out some of my favorite cork pieces below! ( Click on the photo to purchase an item from this post )
