2015 CMA Awards Red Carpet Picks

Last night, stars hit the red carpet for the 49th annual CMA Awards . My favorite looks this year are all about bright colors, great cuts and simple details. Here are my picks from the evening. Erika Christensen  photo, John Shearer/WireImage My favorite look of the night was Erika Christensen. I love the vibrant blue, the ruffles and the one shoulder sexiness. She looks classy and sophisticated, and she doesn't need any fancy bling to complete her look. Carrie Underwood photo, Michael Loccisano/Getty Images Carrie seriously never looks bad. And I love this peach peplum dress with a low cut front. She looks sexy and simply stunning. No need for anything fancy here! Kellie Pickler  photo, Michael Loccisano/Getty Images Kellie shines in this radiant purple low cut dress. It fits her silhouette wonderfully, and shows some skin without giving it all away. Hi fashionistas! I hope your week has been enjoyable so far. I want to share a fun -and super easy- fall eye makeup look with you. I call this a "fall flavored smoky eye," because the colors are reminiscent of fall. Below is a step by step photo tutorial from The Beauty Department. They call this look "fall's copper smoke." Visit this link for a more detailed "how to," including products used. Enjoy! Here is my version, using gold and pinkish red (perfect for fall) colored eye shadow. What do you think of this makeup look for fall? Would you try it?

"Simply" Stunning Red Carpet Looks From the 2015 Emmy Awards

Last night, the red carpet fashion at the 67th Emmy Awards was full of variety. Everything from ballgowns in bright colors to long black dresses were worn. And while there were many hits (and misses), I've narrowed down my list of favorites to these five looks. What do they all have in common? They are simple silhouettes on simply stunning women. Lady Gaga photo, Steve Granitz/WireImage Who knew that behind all of that crazy makeup, big hair and scandalous clothing, there was a gorgeous lady? In this form fitting find, she does anything but make me wanna "gaga." Samira Wiley photo, Vince Bucci/Invision for the Television Academy/AP Images If "orange is the new black," then "pink is the new sexy." Seriously, Samira looks amazing here! If she should be locked up for anything, it should be for being too stylish. Penelope Ann Miller photo, Vince Bucci/Invision for the Television Academy/AP Images Metallics are hot this fal

8 Ways to Wear a Plaid Button Down For Fall

I'm a little bummed out that due to my pregnancy, I didn't have the chance to wear any summer dresses this year. But now that fall is about to grace us with its beautiful, colorful landscape, I can start looking forward to (and layering) fall pieces. Pieces like a plaid button down.  Have a plaid button down that you don't know how to wear? Here are 8 ways to rock it this fall. 1. With a Fur Vest photo, Lookastic A fur vest is great for layering, and adding texture to your look. It's the perfect piece for any fall ensemble, and it will keep you warm and cozy on those chilly fall nights. 2. With a Pencil Skirt photo, Southern Curls & Pearls Add a touch of femininity to your fall look by pairing your plaid button down with a pencil skirt. For an extra fun look, choose a skirt in a contrasting pattern. 3. With a Blazer photo, Style Pantry Go for a corporate chic look this fall by throwing a blazer over your plaid shirt. Top of the loo

MTV VMAs 2015: Red Carpet Hits & Misses

Last night was the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards . And like usual, the red carpet was filled with lots of crazy looks and a few classy looks. Here are my fave -and not so fave- looks from the night. Taylor Swift photo, Jason Merritt Taylor Swift seriously never looks bad. Ever . And she can rock a crop top like it's nobody's business. Her glitzy, iridescent two piece outfit looks radiant and sexy on her. She knows how to be classy but still give off a mysterious vixen vibe.  Tori Kelly photo, Jason Merritt I love the combination of textures and styles with this look. The lacy top + the high waisted shorts is sexy and sweet. The ensemble is the "goldilocks" of the red carpet- not too casual, not too fancy, but just right. Props to you, Tori! Bella Thorne photo, Getty / Kevin Mazur This is how you do a look that shows just enough skin to be sexy, but not trashy. I love the cut of the dress, and her updo gives the look a &

Neutrals + Neon

Hi Fashionistas! I'm finally back after having my baby, and I'm hoping to start posting again often. To get back into the swing of things, I'm sharing some looks from one of my current favorite color combos:  neutrals + neon I can't wait to go post-pregnancy shopping and create my own looks using this fabulous combination! What do you think about these looks? McKenna Bleu I'm calling this look "corporate chic." I love it because the sand blazer gives it a corporate feel, but the rest of the pieces make it super fun! Great use of colors and mixing of styles. A House in The Hills Dressy bright pink blouse + casual ripped jeans + tall wedge sandals = FASHtastic! Gal Meets Glam This look combines different colors and different textures, and you can mix the pieces with other pieces in your closet to create different outfits for transitioning between seasons. Preggers in Pink

With just a few weeks left of my pregnancy, I've been trying to get out as much as possible. This past weekend I was able to get away to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was the perfect time to wear my super comfortable bright pink maternity maxi dress from Pink Blush Maternity. I did a layered necklace look in gold, along with some dangling gold earrings. For makeup, I went with fun gold eyes and bright pink lips. I chose a tan colored headband to wear in my hair. I wanted the look to be loose and natural.
