Today was cold . Like, hands going numb if you stand outside too long cold. Nonetheless, I braved the weather to show off my vintage wash chambray denim jumpsuit from eShakti. I recently ordered the piece and was given several options when placing my order. That's because eShakti creates clothing that fits each woman's measurements and preferences, to give her the best fit possible. I ordered the jumpsuit in my standard size, but chose to change the sleeve length from the original 3/4 length sleeves to long sleeves. I could have also chosen a different neckline or pant length as part of the eShakti design process. Since I liked the overall design of the piece, I kept everything except the sleeve length the same. Sometimes you want to stand out with your outfit and sometimes you want to blend in. I went with the latter for this post. Lots of camouflage is hanging in my closet right now, so I thought I'd wear a camo statement sleeve top I recently found. The ruffled sleeves make this top extra fun and trendy. I wore a basic black pair of fitted pants to keep the outfit simple and the focus on the top. Heeled sandals gave the look a dressy vibe, making it appropriate for work or play. If you've ever taken pictures of yourself wearing different colors, you know that wearing the wrong shades can make a huge impact on your appearance. Your seasonal coloring is what determines which hues your should or shouldn't wear, and I'm showing you the science behind this. I took several shots of myself in various colors to demonstrate the way different shades make you look better or worse. On the left, I'm wearing a pink top that falls into the cool category. On the right, I'm wearing a peach top that falls into the warm category. If you compare how I look in each top, you'll notice a few things. my skin looks drained of color in the pink top the pink top stands out more than I do the peach top brings out my natural coloring I don't fade into the background in the peach top Therefore, I look better in warm hues than cool ones. I don't know about you, but I'm SO ready for spring! Even though we had a mild winter this year, I'm looking forward to breaking out those lightweight pieces and fun colors! I incorporated a small dose of spring colors into my look today with this polka dot peplum top.   Since I wanted the focus of my outfit to be on the top, I kept the rest of my look simple by going with all black pieces and no jewelry or accessories. Another awards show, another red carpet. That's the reason to watch awards shows, right? This year I paid extra close attention to what Hollywood's leading ladies were wearing, noting the colors, fit and textures of their dresses. I used the guidelines from my recently launched website, The Style Spectrum, to make (most of) my determinations. These are the 5 looks that got the highest marks from me, and why they caught my eye.
