Have a Healthier Period Experience & Give Back to Girls in Need With Cora

I've been trying to live healthier and in a way that is more eco-conscious and promotes green living. So when I recently discovered Cora pads and tampons, I decided to switch to the brand for my feminine hygiene needs. So far, I've been very happy! Not only are the products better for my body and the planet (they are made using ethically sourced organic cotton), the company is committed to giving back to girls and women on a global scale. With nearly 25 million women in the U.S. living below the poverty line, and young girls in third world countries not having access to feminine care products, Cora has partnered with non-profits across the country to provide more than 100,000 products to women in need in the U.S. and gives a percentage of profits to support young girls in Kenya through the ZanaAfrica Foundation. For every month's supply purchased from Target , Cora gives a month's supply of sustainable pads to a girl in need in India. Cora is also a huge propone...

Dear Target, You're Losing Me

Dear Target, I was just in your store a few days ago with my 10 month old daughter. And my 3 year old son often accompanies us. In fact, we shop at your store so much, that my son will spot the red bulls-eye from the car and shout, "There's Target!" I'm a RedCard holding, Cartwheel app using Target fanatic who finds any excuse to go there as much as possible. I LOVE Target . Target is my caffeine. It's what gets me through my week and keeps me going. Do you see the Target banner on the side of this blog? I'm part of your affiliate program because I can't get enough of you. However, I'm not sure that will be the case anymore. After learning about your new policy allowing transgendered guests and Target team members to "use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity," I'm not sure I'll be spending as much time there. I understand your beliefs about being all-inclusive and not discriminating, bu...

Spring Maternity Stripes

I've been looking forward to wearing cute spring maternity clothes for a long time. And now that we have consistently warm weather in the forecast, I'm breaking out my spring maternity pieces. The focus of this look is on the striped shirt- which I love because it is bright and colorful! I kept with the striped theme by choosing a pair of slip-on denim & white canvas shoes.   I added a fun vintage element by wearing a necklace and earrings that used to be my grandmother's. I chose a springy pink/purple color scheme for my eye makeup.   Jeans, Ross / Multi-Colored Striped Tank Top , Pink Blush Maternity / Canvas Shoes , Target

Summer Soiree Style

Sometimes you want to look cute, but not spend a lot of time getting ready. You want to wear something simple, but not boring. That is what I was going for when I got dressed for a friend's birthday brunch recently. It was hot outside, so I wanted to wear something summery, but I wanted to look nicer than I would on an ordinary summer day. I wanted fun summer color with comfortable summer fabrics. Here is the outfit I came up with.   I wore a comfortable aqua crop top with a black skirt (that happens to be reversible and has a fun print on the other side)  I love the lace details in the middle of the top. I chose a round aqua stone necklace and some silver leaf design earrings for jewelry. I went with some black summer heels to add just a hint of fancy to the simple summer ensemble.  aqua crop top: xhilaration from Target | black reversible skirt: mark. silver leaf earrings: c/o Majestical Jewelry | aqua stone necklace: old (...

Two Birds, One Stone

Sometimes when I am shopping, I see pieces and I wonder what exactly they are. Like, is this a shirt or a dress? Do you wear this as a top or a skirt? That is what happened to me recently when I found this cute flower piece. Wear it on its own, and it's a dress. Add some jeans or leggings, and it becomes a top. I guess sometimes there is no "right" way to wear a fabulous find. Sometimes, you just make it your own.       I chose to wear this piece with some light wash denim skinny jeans. I completed the look with a pair of shiny black heels and a neon pink handbag. Flower Top/Dress: Plato's Closet | Jeans: Ross   Shoes: Fergalicious | Bag: Target How would you wear this piece?

Patriotic Pirate

How was your 4th of July? Did you sport an awesome red, white & blue look? I had two of the three colors down- and chose to substitute the blue with black. I found this fun fringe tank at a local boutique and knew it would be the perfect piece to wear on July 4th. I also found these cute black & white striped shorts and paired the two together for a look that I am calling "patriotic pirate." Don't you get a feeling I should walk the plank when you see this ensemble? I wore some dangly circular gold earrings, a gold bangle and a circular style necklace to add some bling to the look and give it some feminine details. I threw a solid red tank under the anchor tank for an extra pop of color and to add a fun layer. This tank is also great for practicing your dance moves.
