I've Got the Gingham Blues

Here in the south, gingham is a print most fashionistas have in their closet. And after snagging this adorable Stay Sweet Gingham Top from Bella Ella Boutique, I'm definitely going to be adding more of the print to my wardrobe! I love the ruffled style of this top and the way it gently floats away from my body. It's such a versatile piece that can be worn many different ways. This top can be paired with jeans, a skirt, capri pants or shorts. It works for lunch dates with the ladies or a casual night out with your fella. It's so feminine and yet so fun too! Here's a close up of the color and details. (Don't you just love the ruffles?) There's nothing like lounging in the southern summer sun. I already had a pair of royal blue suede pumps to wear with the top- and they matched perfectly . Score! Stay Sweet Gingham Top: Bella Ella Boutique (it looks like the blue is no longer available, but you can get it in a pretty pink here ) | J...

A Muah-velous Shirt

You guys- I'm so excited about this post! After nearly six years of having this blog, I finally found the perfect shirt to represent it. I was totally stoked when I stumbled upon this Kiss Me Lips Graphic Tee from The Pink Lily Boutique. It's absolutely perfect for a blog titled Leather & Lip Gloss! And so, here's how I chose to wear the shirt for the first time. (I plan to share many more ways to style it in the future!) Hope you love this casual summer outfit that I put together. Here's a shot of the shirt in all its glory. It's super soft and comfy! You can't go wrong with a graphic tee and a classic pair of jeans. I paired mine with some striped canvas sneakers to complete the look. It was such a gorgeous day outside, I just had to go with outdoor shots. Greenery and brick walls make great backdrops for photos. What's great about this shirt is that you can wear it no matter what mood you're in! Rock it when you...

Fall Colored Casual Bohemian

As much as I enjoy dressing up, sometimes I really look forward to days when I can wear something comfy and casual. I used the cropped sweater in this outfit as the inspiration, and I was going for a casual Bohemian look. I decided to stick to a fall color palette, which also happens to be perfect for my autumn coloring ! I stuck to beige and gold tones, but added a punch of color with a rust orange maxi skirt. I also wore a necklace that I made out of small wooden balls and metal pipes. I love how it coordinated with the outfit and gave a bit of texture to the look! A pair of gold dangly earrings completed the look, and matched the necklace really well. Colorful, Fun & Playful Layers

We're getting closer to winter, and layering weather is far from over. So on a brisk day recently, I tried layering a few pieces to create a colorful, playful look. I loved the emerald green color of the top and the fun chevron print of the bag. Here's how I put this look together. I paired the green top with a casual denim skirt and black footless tights. Open toed heel sandals were the perfect way to complete the look.  I thought it would be cool to tuck the shirt in for a different look, which made the outfit classy and gave the illusion of a longer body frame. It got beyond brisk at one point, which required me to throw on a light denim jacket. It matched the skirt really well, so the ensemble stayed balanced and put together. The bag had a gold chain strap that could be used, so I mixed things up and wore it on my shoulder. What do you think of this fun, colorful, playful get up?  Recreate this look yourself by shopping these piece...

Teal Me About It, Wild One

I still can't believe how hot this summer has been! I haven't had much time to get my legs ready for summer, so I'm spending most of my days in jeans and maxi dresses. Today I stopped by the park in this fun teal leopard print top and tried to enjoy the breeze!   I went with a comfortable pair of jeans that took the look down a notch.   Since this top has a very "open" design, I wore a simple black tank underneath. I wanted to keep the focus of the outfit on the top, so the only jewelry that I wore was a few rings and a small pair of earrings. I straightened my hair to keep things looking classy. I LOVE the open back style of this top, even though I wouldn't wear it by itself. (Maybe 10 years ago I would have.) Still, isn't it super cool (unlike the weather!)? To dress the outfit up, a wore a pair of black heel sandals.  The day was hot, but it was gorgeous! Are you ready for cooler w...

Tri- Print Argyle Girl

Today was a beautiful day! The sun was shining but there was a breeze, so it was the perfect time for  leggings and a light sweater. I chose to mix things up with a tri-print look, combining three different prints from three different pieces. I started with a bright pink & white argyle sweater that I paired with some cozy, stretchy leggings.    I threw on a black & white fedora, which added a second print to the look. I completed the outfit with a pair of zebra print flats with a pop of pink, giving the ensemble its third and final print. Because of the multiple patterns, I chose not to do any jewelry.  I felt a bit like a female golf player, but I still love me some argyle! Create this look by shopping these pieces: Tommy Hilfiger Classic Argyle Sweater , $20.85-59.50 Ralph Lauren Stretch Corduroy Five Pocket Leggings , $37.55 Woven Diamond Print Fedora , $12.99 Cole Haan Zebra Pri...
